Position

CNC Machinist/Custom Tool Builder, Full Time

Position Description

A robust and growing metal fabrication company in North Davenport is seeking a CNC Machinist/Custom Tool Builder on a full-time employment basis.

Duties include building custom tools and troubleshooting existing tools for press work, tube bending applications, weld fixtures, and check fixtures. Candidate will work off engineering drawings to design and build tooling and work with the Tool Department Supervisor to prioritize projects and production needs. Candidate must be experienced with CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes, and surface grinders. NO MANUAL MACHINES ARE USED IN THIS SHOP.

Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in custom tool building
  • Experience with CAD/CAM

Preferred:

  • Journeyman’s card
  • Haas programming experience

A robust and growing metal fabrication company in North Davenport is seeking CNC Operators on a full-time employment basis for 1st with option to transfer to 2nd shift, when the need arises.

Duties include Works with computer numeric controlled (CNC) heavy machinery from set-up to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials. Computer numeric controlled equipment is precision machinery that cuts, grinds, or drills into the materials.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. The CNC Machinist runs the assigned machine using pre-set programs.
  2. May make adjustments as needed to control speed, material feed and path of cut.
  3. Ensures that the machine is set-up accurately, works well, and produces quality product.
  4. Utilizes all safety and Quality measures in the operation of the machinery.
  5. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Math skills: Good math skills are necessary to understand complex instructions, how schematics work and to ensure that items are designed and built correctly.
  • Blue Print Reading
  • Understand and calculate Geometrical Dimensions & Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Mechanical and Technical Skills
  • Stamina – Ability to work doing repetitive movements.

Position Description

A robust and growing metal fabrication company in North Davenport is seeking General Production operators on a full-time employment basis for 1st and 2nd shift.

Duties include operating multiple types of manufacturing equipment including tube benders, tube lasers, presses, wash bay, etc. Candidate will utilize job trackers to manage production flow through his/her work area. Candidate will also be responsible for inspecting his/her parts for quality and maintaining a clean work area. Candidate must be experienced with blue print reading and machine operation in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with blue print reading
  • Good Basic shop math skills
  • Attention to detail

Position Description

A robust and growing metal fabrication company in North Davenport, IA is seeking a quality technician to aid with inspection and quality management of metal tube and pipe products and assemblies.

Duties include:

  • Create inspection plans for production based off the print and customer requirements
  • Completing first part inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Experience using a CMM, FaroArm, or Romer
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T
  • Experience inspecting parts using various inspection tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • Work with minimal supervision still ensuring fabricated parts are being inspected with the highest standards
  • Taking initiative to correct issues/identify areas of concern
  • Attention to details
  • Participate in continual improvement initiatives
  • Follow all company policies

Preferred:

  • 2 year Engineering Degree or 2 years’ experience inspecting complex parts
  • Experience or training in understanding GD&T principles

Experience with tubing, welding, assemblies, machining, or fabrication a plus
